Africa, Here They Come(without me)

The furious planning, meeting, gathering donations, and packing are over.  In two days, the team from  Foundation of Hope starts their journey to Rwanda, along with bags of clothing and school supplies for the Gatumba orphans.  Not only are they taking gifts, they are taking my heart.

Planning and organizing a trip like this is a lot like planning a wedding or other big celebration.  You have visions of the big day, you have dreams of how people are going to respond and react, and you work really hard to get everything organized and ready.  Then, the day arrives, there is nothing more that can be done, fixed, or changed.  You just have to go with the flow, allow things to happen and adjust accordingly.  And, it just seems to come and go so quickly.  There is nothing more that can be done here in America, all I can do is wait, wait, wait(maybe not very patiently either) for news from Rwanda.  Well, I might be a little over-dramatic about this, because I will be praying, praying, praying!

I can't wait to see the updated information and see the pictures of the kids that we support.  I can't wait to see the video that Seth will take so I can hear their voices and see the Foundation of Hope Rwanda choir singing at their concert.  It will be like receiving an early Christmas present when the team returns with their pictures and stories!  Then, I will start planning for the next trip!!!  Maybe I can go too!!!
